Youth at First Baptist

Sixth through Twelfth Grade

We cultivate a safe and brave space for teenagers to learn about God, themselves, and what it means to be in community with caring and invested adults. We create opportunities for young people to express themselves without judgment, and we build a spiritual foundation for a lifelong faith. Whether on a Sunday morning, a midweek gathering, or a one-on-one coffee, we cultivate an environment for teenagers grounded in trust, fun, and openness. All young people who enter our spaces experience radical welcome. From one another, from leaders, and most importantly, from God.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEENAGERS TO ENGAGE

FAITH FORMATION HOUR
Sunday mornings at 10 AM
On Sunday mornings at 10 am, we gather for food, fellowship, fun, lessons, and discussions that encourage teenagers to learn about God, the Bible, the church, themselves, and the world.

INDIVIDUAL CONNECTIONS
Dates and Times Vary
From time-to-time, youth leaders meet with teenagers in spaces they inhabit whether it’s a local coffee shop, athletic game, or school play.

SEASONAL EVENTS
Dates Vary
We host events for teenagers at different times throughout the year. Whether it’s a lock-in, movie outing, or game night, teenagers come to see the church as a place where they are safe, known, and loved.

YOUTH CREW

Young adults who show up for teenagers

One of the most distinctive features of youth ministry at First Baptist is the Youth Crew — a group of young adults in their twenties who come alongside our teenagers not as distant mentors, but as genuine, present companions in faith.

We believe deeply in the power of intergenerational relationship, and we believe it starts young. The Youth Crew shows our teenagers that faith is not something you age out of — it is something that grows and deepens as you do. When a twenty-something chooses to spend their Sunday morning with a middle schooler, or shows up to a weekend retreat, or sits in the stands at a school game, that teenager notices. It matters.

Our LEADER

Dedicated, gifted leadership

Our youth ministry is led by someone who genuinely loves teenagers — their energy, their questions, their honesty, and their potential. Julia Bradley brings a deep commitment to young people and to the conviction that the church should be one of the best places in the world for a teenager to be.

Julia Bradley
Program Director for Youth

Julia leads youth ministry at First Baptist with creativity, warmth, and a genuine investment in each young person she serves. She oversees Sunday faith formation, seasonal events, and the kind of individual connection that makes teenagers feel truly seen. Julia believes the church is a place where teenagers don't just belong — they matter.

SAFETY

A safe space in every sense

We use the language of "safe and brave" intentionally — and we back it up. Every staff member and regular volunteer in our youth ministry has completed a background check and received training in our child safety policies. We follow safe-church practices in all of our ministry spaces and are committed to maintaining an environment where every young person is protected, respected, and free to be themselves.

Detailed information about our child safety policies is available upon request through the church office.
