Welcome! Each Sunday we reserve many of our 36 available parking spaces in our adjacent parking garage for newcomers. When all of those spaces have been filled, guests will need to find parking on the streets around the church. Street parking is limited, so we strongly encourage using Metrorail or Metrobus.
Metrorail—Dupont Circle Station (Red Line)
First Baptist is about a 10-minute walk from the Dupont Circle station. Use the south exit. (Bonus! You'll find a Krispy Kreme just outside the station.) Head north on 19th Street toward Connecticut Avenue. At the traffic circle, take the third exit to Massachusetts Avenue. Turn left on 17th Street, walk one block and turn right on O Street, then continue along O Street and turn right on 16th Street to find the main entrance to the sanctuary.
Metrorail—Farragut West Station (Blue, Orange & Silver Lines)
First Baptist is a 15-minute walk from the Farragut West station. Use the exit for 18th and I streets, as the 17th Street exit is closed on weekends. Head east on I Street toward 17th Street, cross Farragut Square and head north on 17th Street for four blocks. (Bonus! Starbucks and Peet’s Coffee are along this route.) Turn right on O Street, then continue along O Street and turn right on 16th Street to find the main entrance to the sanctuary.
Metrobus
First Baptist is located on the S1, S2, S4 and G2 routes. The closest bus stop is one block north on 16th Street, in front of Foundry United Methodist Church.
First Baptist Garage Parking
Each Sunday we reserve many of our 36 available parking spaces in our adjacent parking garage for guests. Access to our garage is in the alley off 17th Street, just south of O Street. Through 2023, during construction on FBC’s new Community Building, please follow volunteers’ directions to exit through the lobby of The Drake apartments on 17th Street near O Street.
Street Parking
We encourage you to allow an additional 15 to 20 minutes to find parking along 16th Street, O Street, P Street, 17th Street and other streets near First Baptist Church. Metered spaces are free on Sundays.
Directions from the East
Take Beltway Exit 19 West (Route 50 West) to New York Avenue, proceed to Massachusetts Avenue, and then to Scott Circle. Turn to the north on 16th Street. The church is on the left. Access to our garage is on O Street, between 16th and 17th streets, in the middle of the block. Our welcome team will be expecting you. Our valet is on duty between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. every Sunday, and will be happy to park your car for you, or you may self-park. (FYI, tipping the valet is fine but not expected.)
Directions from the North:
Take Beltway Exit 31 South (Georgia Avenue South) and follow Georgia Avenue to 16th Street. Proceed south for about seven miles to O Street. Turn right on O Street. Access to our garage is on O Street, between 16th and 17th streets, in the middle of the block. Our welcome team will be expecting you. Our valet is on duty between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. every Sunday, and will be happy to park your car for you, or you may self-park. (FYI, tipping the valet is fine but not expected.)
Directions from the West:
Take Beltway Exit 9 East (I-66 East), and continue on I-66 East, crossing the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge, to Constitution Avenue. Turn left onto 18th Street, and proceed on 18th Street to P Street, crossing Massachusetts Avenue. Turn right on P Street, then right on 17th Street, and then left on O Street. Access to our garage is on O Street, between 16th and 17th streets, in the middle of the block. Our welcome team will be expecting you. Directions from the South:
Take Beltway Exit 4 North (I-395 North) and continue on I-395 for about nine miles to the 14th Street Bridge. Remain in the far left lane as you cross the bridge. Continue on 14th Street across the National Mall and turn left on I Street. Proceed two blocks and turn right onto 16th Street. Follow 16th Street through an underpass below Scott Circle to P Street-- about five blocks. Turn left onto P Street, left onto 17th Street, then left onto O Street. Access to our garage is on O Street, between 16th and 17th streets, in the middle of the block. Our welcome team will be expecting you.
