Youth Programs (Sixth to Twelfth Grade)

  The FBC Youth Group is a ministry for youth in grades six through twelve and is designed to provide opportunities for discipleship, service, worship and fellowship. 

Ongoing Monthly Activities:

Faith-in-Practice Sundays

Faith in Practice Sundays (FIPS) take place once a month during the Sunday worship hour and provide youth with an opportunity to participate in a service-oriented project.  The purpse of FIPS is to support the understanding that worship should lead to tangible acts of service in our world.

Church School

Church School classes help to serve the multi-generational discipleship needs of the FBC congregation.  Youth Church School classes take place during the Church School hour and incorporate interactive lessons, activities and multi-media.

2nd Saturday Fellowships

Every second Saturday of the month, the youth participate in a fellowship activity.  Past activities include sleepovers, bowling, ice skating and movie nights.  Every month there is a different activity and all youth are welcome. 

Goals for Ministry to Youth

• Teens can respond to God and commit to a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
• Teens can express their love for God by loving others at home, church, school and at work and by obeying God’s commands.
• Teens can relate to God through prayer, discovering who God is and who they are and who they are becoming.
• Teens can ask for forgiveness from God and others and practice forgiveness themselves.
• Teens can worship God by making good choices concerning their time, talents, money, relationships and plans for the future.
• Teens can serve their LORD and congregation by reading scripture, ushering, and being involved in special services and ministries.
• Teens can study the Bible to experience God at work with others in various life situations, helping them to understand what God might do in their own life.
• Teens can give to support ministry by giving their time and energy and money.
• Teens can be disciple makers and share the love of God with others.
