Fun & Friendship

We offer a warm and friendly space to connect, share God’s love and enjoy our exciting city. We’d love to meet and get to know you.

Join us for coffee, tea and a snack after the 11 a.m. worship service each Sunday. You’ll find us in the parlor through the double doors at the left side of the sanctuary. We’d love to introduce ourselves, learn more about you, and catch up from the busy week.

Tables heaving with delicacies—join us for a potluck lunch the first Sunday of each month. Enjoy conversation and a delicious meal downstairs in Fellowship Hall after the worship service. Congregation members bring dishes and desserts to share, and the church provides food as well. There is always plenty to eat and everyone is welcome—especially visitors.

Are you a basketball fan looking for a fun and intense pickup game? Join the action each Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. in the basement gym. Players high school aged and up are welcome.

Leave your midweek stress behind for our Wednesday evening activities downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Enjoy dinner every Wednesday at 6 p.m., and at 7 p.m., join in discussions on faith and the Christian life. At 5 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month, volunteers make sandwiches for the homeless with Martha’s Table.

When the leaves turn we gather for the Fall Fellowship Picnic in Rock Creek Park or another local space. Grilling hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers with all the fixings is our autumn tradition.

The Woman’s Society is passionate about serving others and leads many of our local and international outreach efforts, from fundraising to support worldwide missions to collecting supplies for local hospitals, schools and senior centers.

Cheering for the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park; absorbing the moving exhibits at the Holocaust Memorial Museum; saluting John Philip Sousa at his final resting place at Congressional Cemetery; fishing on Virginia’s Burke Lake-- there is always more to explore.
