How to describe FBC members
Our membership is drawn from across the National Capital Region. Many of our active members reside in the Dupont and Logan neighborhoods. We represent all identity groups and walks of life, and all are welcome to full participation in the life of our congregation.
How are FBC members involved in the community?
In recent years, FBC members have served as volunteers at various community institutions and organizations, such as Ross Elementary School, the Dupont Circle Citizens Association, the Urban Neighborhoods Alliance, the Whitman-Walker Clinic, Emmaus Services for the Aging, and with many other organizations that serve our neighborhood and the wider city.
Do I have to be a member to participate in ministry and fellowship activities?
No, all are welcome! While we hope that you will become a member of the FBC family, friends and visitors are welcome to fellowship and serve with us.
Can I have my wedding at First Baptist?
How convenient is FBC to a metro stop?
We are conveniently located just a few blocks away from the DuPont Circle, Farragut North and Farragut West metro stops.
How do I reserve your facility for a special event?
Our church building has ample space to host a variety of events. We have seminar style rooms, classrooms, an auditorium, gym and a beautiful sanctuary. Interested in holding your wedding or special event here? Please fill out one of the following forms and send it back to us. Someone will be in touch with you shortly.
What is the church’s policy on building closures?
There may be times the church is closed due to bad weather or other unforeseen events. This is done primarily to ensure the safety of members and visitors. The church is registered with three media entities: WTOP-FM (103.5); WTTG-TV (Fox affiliate) and WUSA-TV (CBS affiliate). Any closings or event cancellations will be listed with these stations.
